Why this BLOG?

This is L J aka Lil’Rev dropping a few thoughts down on the WorldWideWeb.   Ever meet those people who talk over your head about the Bible and God?  Well, it comes from a condition called Spiritual Constipation.  Well, I’m trying to avoid that.  I realize that the understanding of the Word I receive must flow out.

So I started this blog.  After posting all of my ”status updates” on facebook everyday as ”quick thoughts” rather than updates, I figured I needed an outlet.   Those quick thoughts had been concerning the Body of Christ and the individual believer, but with limited space, I had to have a punch line that was straight to the point: sometimes exhorting, sometimes encouraging and other times just straight-out correcting according the Word of God.  Basically, my heart’s desire and mission is to see the Church “Getting” and being “Aligned” with the Word of God.

WHAT I BELIEVE? – Because I won’t spell it all out here in this set of words, I’ll give you the basics and we can discuss in more detail later if you like.  My belief and “know” is that Jesus Christ (the only begotten Son of God) is the only way to God and eternal life with Him in Heaven (John 14:6-7); the Bible is inerrant and my ultimate authority and measurement for everything (John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:15-16);  Salvation in Christ requires a complete submission to God with repentence of sins and sole trust in who Christ and the Bible says He is – the Son of God who is alive today (Romans 2:4; 8; 10); Creation is of God alone (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7, 21-22; John 1:1-14).  Again this is the basics…mainly this point that Christ Jesus is the only way to Heaven…no other belief will get us there.

Getting Aligned is my personal ministry and an avenue for me to expound on running thoughts I have everyday.  The thoughts and discussions here are not representation or a direct reflection of any particular church, but rather words from my heart that are based on the Word of God.  Hopefully you’ll agree with much concerning what is said, in which case, let’s sharpen one another all the more.  On the other hand, you may disagree, in which case, let’s discuss (not debate) and see if we can still sharpen one another all the more.  Stay tuned and Get Aligned in God’s Word.  John 14:15-17.

This is one of the reasons that I like you. You think, and even if I don’t always agree, I like you for that. Can’t wait to read more. Sherry
