Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and come short of God’s glory.

Some of you have been looking for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ.  Again, you have a very popular chance.  Whether the trial outcome of Casey Anthony was right or wrong, there are many desiring to see her punished, yet Christ said differently concerning you and them.

As Christ bore the punishment of your sins, so He has done for all who will receive Him and respond to the Holy Spirit’s call to repent and believe that Jesus is Lord and has paid the ultimate price.

Many want punishment for what they think Ms. Anthony has done but see no just need to be punished for their own deeds.  They would rather God draw a line of judgement just after their own deeds (lying, gossiping, hatred towards others, etc) and start with murderers, adulterers and theives.  Yet God is holy and just, imparting to all the same measure of mercy and grace.  This is where the Gospel becomes apparent!!!

God never changes or ceases to judge all sin.  The important factor becomes “on whom” His judgement and wrath is placed.  The debt of sin must be paid.  As Christ has already done so for all the World, so you have another opportunity to make that fact known to others.

When is the last time you examined the Gospel to the point of tears for yourself?  When is the last time you wept as you participated in communion?  Have you so quickly forgotten the undeserved favor you receive DAILY by the sacrafice of Christ?  The world doesn’t acknowledge this, but you are able to do so.    Casey Anthony sits in the same place as you and I once did.  The issue is greater than guilty or not guilty of this particular accusation.  The greater issue is the fact that we are all guilty before a holy and sovereign God for breaking His Law, thus we desperately need an Advocate who will get us a “not guilty.”  Think about that for a moment.  If you are truly saved, you got a “not guilty” verdict.  That’s mind blowing!!!

But with Christ, it doesnt just stop at a “not guilty” verdict.  Because is always just in fitting the punishment to the crime, He still judges.  As a result of God’s consistent nature, Christ stepped in our place for what is a sure “guilty” verdict, and paid the punishment in full to the point of death.  He then, being God, rose from death, conquering death, hell and sin, to give each person a huge hug for the outcome of the trial!!!  Those who respond to His call in true repentance, turning to Him and away from their seemingly irresistable sin, and believing Him for what God says about Him is victorious and free!!

Let the Gospel of Jesus be your response to the many who will be talking about this trial outcome for days to come.  This is another opportunity for you to get the Lord glory.

Well, she’s certainly been given the grace of another chance. I can handle that. Let’s see how she behaves from now on. Will she become involved in a selfless charity, or party on? I’ll never forget Paris Hilton showing up for her jail sentence clutching her bible. A prop, a photo op. She doesn’t seem to be referencing that tome any longer. And still constantly in trouble.

Casey alluded to reading her bible every day in jail. We’ll just see how much good that did her. The minute she profits off of her child’s murder, got a feeling her fate in heaven is sealed. Hope she redeems herself instead.

I have to ask Sophie…are you a follower of Christ? Daily we all mess up and most never repent. We take God’s mercy for granted and feel we are entitled to God’s grace. You sound as though you are waiting to see her fail so you can judge or say, “I told you so.” This is when Christ says to examine the plank in our own eye before being meticulous about the speck in anothers eye. Hopefully, you already know this and understand the greater point of this post, which is that we all have messed up before God and deserve death, yet HE has provided forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ to all who are His (as presented above).

Be blessed and let me know about that first question. I dont want to assume you are a Christian who has responded to this blog. Be blessed.
